COSMETOLOGY COURSE OF STUDY

OBJECTIVE
The objective of the Cosmetology Course is to prepare the student for a successful and rewarding career as a licensed cosmetologist. As a result of the 1500 clock hours of theory and practical training the student should gain the knowledge, skill and ability to competently:

a. Pass the state-licensing exam
b. Protect the health and safety of the patron consumer
c. Solve the consumer's hair, nail, and skin problems
d. Exhibit artistic ability in hair design
e. Recognize the need for and be motivated to keep abreast of the latest trends and
    techniques

The objective of the Instructor Course is to prepare the student for a successful and rewarding career as a cosmetology instructor. As a result of the 500-Hour course of theory and practical training the student instructor should gain the knowledge, skills and ability to competently:

a. Pass the state licensing exam
b. Protect the health and safety of the consumer and patron customer
c. Develop lesson plans for teaching the art and science of cosmetology
d. Teach both theory and practice classes
e. Understand cosmetology laws, rules, and school record keeping
